Torani Mango Frusia Knocked My Smoothie Socks Off

I know don’t know how they’re going to replace my knocked off socks, but right now, I don’t care.  We got a whole bunch of samples from CoffeeFest in June, but haven’t had time to really get into them.  Tonight, for the first time, I tried the Torani Mango Frusia with a little skim milk and ice and it was terrific.  Unfortunately, for those of you out there, I’m not sure the small sample packets are available to those who weren’t at the conference.  But, take my word for it, it was delicious.  I’m usually so skeptical of smoothie claims, but between Torani and Big Train, we’ve been very pleasantly surprised this past couple of weeks of beverage experimentations.  Certainly ordering the Big Train packets is a tremendous savings over buying the drinks at Starbucks and I haven’t noticed any lack of quality in the results.  We’ve tried a multitude of flavors and they’re all good.  We split a packet and it averages out to about 50 cents per drink versus the Starbucks’ $3+.  Don’t get me wrong, when we’re swimming in cash, I’m more than happy to go into Starbucks and get them to make our drink, but this is great when you’re stuck at home during the INTERMINABLE thunderstorm/dog fear watches.

I would certainly buy the full bottle of the mango puree because it’s just that good.  And ice and skim milk (although it can be made with water or tea) are pretty cheap.  They’re are only two of us in the household, so we don’t need a big bottle.  If you can find a way to buy the small packets from Torani, it would be a great way to try it.  Seriously tasty.

1. Ok, so I just started reading your blog, and I see you mention starbucks alot, which makes me like you a lot because, well, I talk about starbucks alot.

   Now, if only I could find a way to like starbucks a lot, but not give them all of my husband’s hard earned money, life would be GREAT!

2. I love Starbucks beyond all reason.  In fact, Leigh-Ann has almost every single Starbucks bear.  And, I bought the big huge jumbo Abbey mug.  The one that’s big enough to almost stand in.

   For a fellow Starbucks lover who’s trying to save money, I have some acceptable solutions for you.  Big Train drink mixes.  The blended coffees are really very similar to Starbucks.  Sure, they’re not in a pretty cup (unless you have Starbucks cups stashed in your cupboards), but this morning we had Java Chip and it was fabulous.  And, *we* have bendy straws and Starbucks doesn’t. The other flavors we’ve had are all good too.  Big Train is one of my favorite companies.  We see them every year at CoffeeFest and they’re always really nice too.  Good products *and* nice people.
