Tie Scores Career 100th Goal, Craig Scores Career 50th Birthday, We See The Bangles @ Mandalay Bay
October 8th, 2005, a day that will live in infamy. Tie Domi (or Voldemort) of the Toronto Maple Leafs scores his 100th career goal. Alas, while a good game, the Leafs lose to the Montreal Canadiens. On this very same day, my brother Craig, turned 50 (now I have TWO brothers in their fifties!) and received a very cheesy, yet entertaining singing phone-a-gram. I’ll see if I can upload the file here later. And, we went out to see The Bangles at the House of Blues. I was surprised at how much I liked them. They’re much more rocker chick in person. Not so poppy. It was a good, if short concert. Afterwards, the all important Peets latte from the Chocolate Swan, which is the only place we can get them in town.
We were hoping to get some pictures of the sumo wrestlers at Mandalay Bay because there was big (BIG!) sumo competition there. Alas, we didn’t see a single one. Instead, you will suffer with the terrible phone pictures I took.
Tie (or Voldemort), undated photo, but hey, he’s in a Leafs uniform and that’s all that counts.
Craig, undated photo - sometime in his forties, waaaaay back
The blurry Bangles, minus Michael Steele

That sounds like fun, seeing The Bangles. I have to know, what’s a Peets Latte?

Did you say you saw the Bengals in Vegas?
Be careful. The last guy to tap the big white one on the nose with a microphone is in bad shape.Sincerely,
Roy

Hey, Roy is walking (a little) again. Pretty cool. But no, no Bengals. We almost saw the tigers when we went to the MGM Grand for Frozen Fury, but apparently it was late and all the tigers were getting their beauty rest.

ESL Nancy, Peets is a coffee place in San Francisco. They have incredibly fresh-roasted beans (you can order from http://www.peets.com - you can smell the coffee through the box even after their travels to your home) and they’re a nice change from Starbucks occasionally. Anyway, there aren’t any Peets here, so we get all nostalgic when we get to Mandalay Bay and pay our $6 for lattes that cost $3 in San Francisco.

You are correct, Mikey. Maybe if you write that before every game, he’ll lead the league in scoring.
My fantasy hockey team would be very very happy with that.
