The Daily Factoid - Twofer

No factoid yesterday, so today you get two.  Firstly, Sales of Rolaids, Alka-Seltzer, and Tums jump 20% in December.  Shocking, huh?

The second factoid is, if you give a dog too much of a certain kind of pressed bone and said dog eats its poop, it will throw up constantly for an hour all over the bedroom floor.  It will completely miss every spot that could easily be cleaned, in favor of nooks, crannies and dog beds.  Said vomit will smell disgusting and will only be alleviated by incense made of real wood.  This morning, the bedroom smells like a cabin in the woods - the good kind of smell, not one related to bears in the woods.

  1. I Googled this:

“Can you give a dog ROLAIDS?”

Your’s was the first site that popped up, so clearly, you must know the answer.  Tonight was our neighborhood Christmas party and my 8 month old bloodhound pup stole a crab-filled puff thing that someone brought.  He’s wretching.  No actual barf yet, but I’m hoping to avoid such.

    Will some ROLAIDS help?

  2. I’m not a vet...and you should be calling one if you think your dog is really sick.  Check this link and see if your dog might be suffering from this - http://www.twinoaksbh.com/firstaid1.html#bloat instead of just reacting to the crab.

  3. Oh, and I think I’m only #3 in Google.  Plus, all I really know is that when a little dog eats poop and throws up, it smells really gross.

  4. Re-Googled and you’re right, you aren’t the first listed.  BUT you are the first containing the words “You , Give, Dog, & Rolaids”!

Actually, I commented originally because I read your “little dog eating poop” entry and just cracked up.  But seriously, thanks for the link to the bloodhound First Aid site.  Very interesting - especially since I’ve never owned a bloodhound before.

I’m pretty sure Lucy is fine.  Seems to be just some serious indigestion.
