The Cure For The Common Cold

In the throes of your cold, get yourself to the store to buy more than $20 worth of cold remedies.  This guarantees that you’ll immediately feel better when you get home.  You won’t even get to try your new intriguing Shower Soothers.  I’m thinking I might maybe still feel a bit congested.  Perhaps tomorrow morning I’ll treat myself to Shower Soother.  Mmmmm.

This morning I tried a Theraflu Thin Strip for my cough.  It was cherry flavored and felt like really thin fruit leather.  It was kinda tasty.  Oh yeah, and it worked.

Or you could try my mom’s shower soother - she heard about it some place - you just put a few drops of your favorite essential oil on the floor of your shower.  She’s been using peppermint because she already had that as a spider deterrent (mixed with vinegar, it works!) and when I go down there in the morning, it smells wonderful in her whole apartment, just from a few drops.  I think sometimes she uses lavendar, too.

   Nancy - doesn’t the oil make the tile slippery?  Er, if not for a normal person, for a klutz?  Like if I happened to, er, know one?

Hmm, Helly, I haven’t tried it myself yet, so not sure, but I don’t think so.  Mom wouldn’t do well with a slippery shower floor, and she only uses a few drops.  I’ll ask, though, or try it tonight.  A few drops of jasmine should make nice shower experience.  I tried to put jasmine in my bathwater once, just like two drops, and it burned my skin.

   Everyone else - used one of the Shower Soothers today.  Meh.  Smells too much like Vicks VapoRub.  That’s a plus for Leigh-Ann, a minus for me.  It’s an interesting idea though and I’d like to see them try maybe peppermint too.
