Super Tasty Dog Food

I admit it, I don’t know for a fact that it’s super tasty, but it smells amazing, especially the Hobo Chili.  I’m talking about Dick Van Patten’s (okay, laugh, and get it out of the way...I did) Eatables.  It’s expensive, so unless you’re rolling in dough or just have a small dog or two (we can’t afford to feed it to our two 100lb dogs - hahaha, five $3 cans a day at least), don’t expect to feed it to your dogs every day.  Nonetheless, our little dogs love it.  We’ve been feeding them Merrick canned food, which is also really great, but it’s all the way across town, so in a dog food emergency a couple of weeks ago, we picked up some poorly named Eatables.  There are four flavors, and at Petco they’re on sale for buy 4 cans, get one free (as of a couple days ago), so that’s a pretty decent savings of $6.  Also, Pet Food Direct has them, so you don’t have to lug them home.  Their shipping is pricey, but you can get the price down with coupons at Bargains4Pets.  When I was last pricing them out, there was a 25% coupon (code: GEICO), but I don’t know if/when that expires.  I’m insured by Geico, so I didn’t even feel like it was cheating when I saw the code somewhere.  Otherwise, the link up there ^ has a 12% off coupon good through the end of the year, or one that’s $10 off $75.

A doofy picture, a doofy name, but good quality food that smells amazing.  Tonight, our dogs had Irish Stew.  Mmm.

  1. My dog love this stuff too...especially the Chinese Take Out, it has awesome gravy that you can pour over the dry food. I also bought Spot’s Stew at petco- its in an ugly package, but it looks really good too. My dog likes all the expensive stuff...just my luck.

  2. I’m not sure which one the dogs like best - Cricket barks happily for all of them, and Phoenix stares expectantly for all of them.

We’ve tried Spot’s Stew for cats, but I don’t think we’ve ever tried it for the dogs.
