Slightly More Of An Update
I’m cheating and taking this from one of my message board posts. I’m not quite up to posting all the details yet. I’m sleeeeeeeeepy.
After a long night of urinary retention (geez, can my body make up its mind?) and trying to pee every hour, I’m still feeling pretty good. I think a lot of my soreness is from having to get in and out of our raised bed so often. Sadly, our guest bedroom no longer has a bed in it, just kittens. I doubt the kittens would stay still long enough for me to sleep on them. Early this morning, I noticed that one of the constant pains in my leg, was gone. It was kind of exciting. Of course, now I think the nerves are going a little wacky and I’m getting some of it back, but I think that was a good sign. My back feels like someone punched me, really hard. It’s kind of surreal for me that I even had surgery. I don’t remember anything from the time I was wheeled down the hall until they woke me up in recovery. I don’t think I even got to count backwards from a hundred. Oh, and my cute nurse was wearing a Hello Kitty scrub top. Bonus points to her. The woman next me was having a laparoscopy and was freaking out because someone might see her naked. Sheesh. Hell, I had the recovery nurse putting a toilet liner on the seat for me, and then she waited while I sat down on it. Dignity is relative in the hospital, I guess. One freaky thing - my hands are really swollen. They look like the hands of hockey player who’s been in too many fights and where you can no longer see his knuckles.
