My Salary - Register Your Jealousy Here
This horrible pay period, I figured out approximately what I made for working my ass off. $6.083333 an hour. Yup, $6/hour, without benefits. Admit it, you’re jealous. You know you want to work long hours through the night, sometimes not sleeping, to kick commission-based butt and end up with...$6. LOL. It’s not what I always make, but the past two weeks have given me a plethora of people saying, “I’ll send it in today. Call me, then I’ll send it in.” Oh, I love it when that happens. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I enjoyed rollercoasters when I was younger, but now I’m old and in pain, so rollercoasters hurt. I’ll have to try the 60+ hours/week again and I’ll let you know how it turns out. Fortunately, I have Modafanil, so I can stay awake & alert for days on end.

Damn...that really bites. Been a while since I worked for that type of wage.

I think you’re making more than I am.

I’m sorry. $6.00 an hour is not a good salary for all that work. You deserve much more.

Georg, if it makes you feel better, some money we already made was taken away, so that drops us down to probably about $5/hour.
Chickie, me too! When I got my first real live professional job when I was 25, I started at $8, and in two years was making $15/hour plus benefits, almost 20 years ago. And, I had a groovy office that I shared with the breakroom, so when people wanted coffee or something from the fridge, they came to vist. So, Maryam Berenji, if you’re ever searching for your name and you find it here, write to me!!! We worked in an office where you almost killed our boss because he stole some of your shrimp crackers...and then blamed you, because he’s allergic to shellfish. I wonder if that taught him to stop stealing food from his receptionists? Anyway, Maryam often came to visit me in my little office/breakroom.
Nancy, tell me about it. Sheesh. This next period will make up for it, but still…
