Idiots of the Day (or maybe not ) - The Coffee Fest Organizers
We’ve been going to Coffee Fest for years (4 or 5) here in Vegas. It’s our favorite time of year, Coffee Fest & Dessert Expo time. Leigh-Ann went to look up what the exact dates would be for Coffee Fest this year in Las Vegas, and she had to break the horrible news to me. There isn’t one scheduled for Las Vegas. There’s Georgia (Helly & Nancy, you should go, even if I HATE David & Marni Heilbrunn, the show organizers), Chicago, Tokyo (JAPAN - but you couldn’t come to VEGAS???), and Seattle. I get their email newsletter and I don’t recall them ever telling us that they wouldn’t be coming to Vegas in 2007. Coffee Fest/Dessert Expo is my favorite convention of all-time and I can’t believe it’s being taken away from me. I ask for so little in life - TiVo, high-speed cable modem, tasty buffets, and COFFEE FEST. How could they do this to me? Don’t they realize that I’m chronically ill. Heh. Can I get a wish from the Make A Wish Foundation for them to hold Coffee Fest in Las Vegas? Geez, and they don’t even mention anything on their website about Las Vegas. It’s like they were never here. It’s like we don’t even exist. It’s so unfair.
Coffee Fest not coming to Las Vegas in 2007? It’s UNPOSSIBLE!
Update - From Henry, my new hero, “My understanding is that because The SCAA (Specialty Coffee Assoc of America) is holding its annual convention in Long Beach two weeks before the summer session of Coffee Fest, the show directors decided to move it this year (this year only) to Atlanta. LV, two weeks after SCAA, would be sparsely attended by the coffee industry. Atlanta is an underserved market and will be psyched.” Still, I want them to come here. :::stomp, stomp, stomp::: Because the Thrashers season will probably be over in June, so that would mean no hockey.
Next entry: Idiot of the Day - Oh, Dell... Previous entry: The Every Other Day Schedule-
Well, you’ll just have to come to the one in Georgia. If only you had friends there, who could pick you up at the airport and maybe take you to a Thrashers game. If only…

I wonder if i can leave a comment this time. I’m sorry you won’t get your Coffee Fest this year, but I second Helly’s suggestion. Wouldn’t that be a perfect excuse to visit us?

Henry, you promise me it’ll be back next year? Pinky swear? I will hold you to this. There’s just no mention of that anywhere. I believe you, as I’m not in the coffee industry in particular, just marketing.
I like Atlanta, I like Atlantans, but I’m so sad that it’s not going to be here this year. If I’m swimming in money by June, we’ll be going to Coffee Fest in Atlanta. I don’t think I can stand to go a year without it.

Henry, Atlanta has an NHL team and an MLB team, so they already have everything their little hearts should desire. Here in Vegas, we have the ECHL and CoffeeFest. Bring back our reason for living…
Leigh-Ann on 03/06 at 06:26 AM -
Oooooh. I already have my tickets for Long Beach. We’d love it if you and Leigh-Ann would meet us there!

Flippy, Im in the A-T-L. Get yourself out to coffee fest and we shall have a grand old time.

We would LOVE to go to both Long Beach & Atlanta. Okay, Long Beach not so much for a vacation, but just the convention. I’ll have to check the price of the convention and see who flies from Vegas to the Long Beach airport. You know, if we’re swimming in money and can fly down for the day.
We would LOVE to go for a nice little vacation to Atlanta and meet up with two of our favorite bloggers and one of our new favorites. Everybody, go read Paige’s blog, and read this entry first, it’s my favorite - http://www.theaverylaneexperience.com/2007/02/and-ill-have-gin-and-tonic-with-arsenic.html
Anyway, we would really like to have a nice vacation in Atlanta, go to Coffee Fest (if we don’t go, go without us), meet up with you guys and have fun. You’d all have something to blog about for a mere $20. Plus, everything smells & tastes great. Check out the exhibitors list - http://tinyurl.com/35ysb8It all depends on money, and petsitting. Hmm, I wonder how much the plane tickets would be? I guess probably a lot more expensive than going to Long Beach, CA, huh? Damn.
