I want to write about something fun!
My blog is even starting to depress me, and in general, I’m quite fine with what I write, whether or not it’s entertaining to anyone else. It’s kind of like my diary (albeit a bit censored), but published in public. I miss my old posts about concerts and conventions and actually doing things. Lately, I barely even log on to the computer anymore. The only thing that has excited me is when after midnight Wed/Thurs, I get to see new stuff in the SuperPoke Pets Shop. I suppose it’s maybe because I miss shopping (at the very least, not having to find out which store has our staples on sale - cereal, granola bars, dehydrated fruit, milk…and Tootsie Pops) and the SuperPoke Shop doesn’t cost anything, just time playing with other people’s pets or, frankly, what’s been happening with my account lately…other people playing with my pet. I have about 800 “friends” (about 20 of them people I actually know), and I used to play with my friends’ pets daily, no matter what else I did. If I had time, I’d play with strangers’ pets. Now, nothin’. I’m behind on message boards, blogs, and what’s happening on people’s Facebook pages. I rarely return emails. If I haven’t written back, don’t worry, I’m still somewhat alive, and I apologize for not getting back to you. It’s not anything you did/said. It kind of feels like information overload. Heck, I barely know what’s going on in the news because I log on so little. I do know that at least things seem better now that Obama is President. I don’t feel like I have to keep an eye on everything to find out what dumb thing the administration has done today or this week. I feel like we’re in better hands, and that if bad stuff happens, it was inevitable and not due to stupidity or meanness.
If anyone knows anything about getting a short sale through or getting a better deal on a short sale, please let me know. I’m not sure what’s going to happen, but I know that I don’t want to lose this house (I’d sure like to relocate it somewhere cooler right now though, ugh), and I don’t have the energy (or money) to move anywhere else. Except for the terrible insulation problem in this house (cold in the winter and hot in the spring and summer, and sometimes, fall) and the lack of cross-ventilation, it’s located in a nice neighborhood. Even though we’re close to a large intersection, our street itself is really quiet and feels more isolated than the other homes in our subdivision because our one block of about 20 houses is separated from the other thousand or so by a large four lane street. Behind us is another subdivision, but there’s a small street before that subdivision begins and our back wall is about twenty feet high, so it doesn’t feel claustrophobic. We have nice neighbors who are friendly when we see them, but we rarely do see them. Since our neighbor/friends from next door moved to Henderson, we really haven’t forged any new friendships. The people who moved into their house are very nice, but they live their own lives with their extended family here. On the other side is the same older couple that’s always been there, and except for them buidling the monstrous garage in their back yard, we like them just fine. Then again, they also spend half of their time at their other home in Illinois, so we go for months not seeing them. The neighborhood’s stray cats appreciate the quiet of their back yard. We occasionally see their security lights go on, but whenever we look over the wall, we never see anything, so we’re sure that most of the time it’s just cats. The owner has very nicely left a stripped Mustang in the back yard, so the cats have a little bit of shelter. Sure, it’s kind of ugly, but we can’t see it unless we look at the yard from the bird room window. So, to make a long story short, we like this house, most of the time.
Wow, this is so rambly. I guess it’s because I don’t have much to say. It’s hard to write a blog when you don’t do anything other than go to the doctor, the library, and the grocery store. I’ve been feeling mostly crummy lately, so it’s a grand success when I shower and leave the house. Although, it sure would be nice if someone would hire me to work from home. I quite miss making money. And heck, since I’m home so much, I could become a workaholic, too. I feel a lot better when the sun goes down. However, I haven’t heard from anyone that I’ve sent my resumes to, even though I’ve only applied for jobs that I could hardly be more qualified to do. It’s sad. Who are they hiring in my place? You’d think they could at least give me a shot. Sheesh.
Well, anyway, if you know anything about short sales, lemme know.
Next entry: Cat food and cat litter: coupons for sale (and a massage chair for sale, too) Previous entry: I haven't been blog writin' lazy, just full o' bad luck-
Ugh - dude - i wish i could buy your house and employ you to simply live in it. er, maybe send my kids down for one weekend out of the year…all you need is music and hockey sticks and they’re happy.
the current mercury retrograde period ends around may 30 - hoping things swing up for you then. the universe can be a bitch, no?

I wish you could, too. We have such great friends, but why can’t any of them be filthy rich?
Heck, I’d even settle for being filthy rich, myself. Ha!Hey, we have music and hockey sticks! Heck, right now, I’ll even let them use my two signed sticks. We even have a hockey rink nearby, inside a casino. I’ll bet your kids have never seen that.
Ending May 30th? Just in the nick of time. And yeah, the universe can be a real bitch. I had no idea how big. My previous life problems (everything before I turned 40) were nothing compared to now. If I survive this, I suppose I’ll have learned some important lessons and will, perhaps, be more appreciative of certain things in the future, like health and enough income just to pay the bills and buy food. I don’t even need any extras. I still have enough free t-shirts to last me another decade, so I don’t even need new clothes…as long as I can work from home.
By the way, thanks for commenting. I know that my blog entries are lately often of the variety that make people just say, “Bummer” to themselves, and then move on to the next blog.

Bummer. [Moves on to the next blog]
No no no, I’m kidding. I’m sorry to hear how crappy things have been for you lately. Stupid bitchy universe. I don’t suppose you have room to run a pet motel?

Hey, I’ve liked reading about your high-tech library. But you haven’t answered the really important questions - like which color of Tootsie Pop is the best?
I’m not even sure I can buy Tootsie Pops here, so you’re way ahead of me in the snack department.

My favorite Tootsie Pop flavors are, in order:
Blue Raspberry
Raspberry
Pomegranate (it just came out recently, but it’s pretty good)
Watermelon
Grape
“Chocolate” (it doesn’t really taste like chocolate, but whatever it tastes like, it’s not bad)
Cherry
OrangeOn their website, they have some swirled ones with mixed flavors, but I’ve never seen them in a store. What I really liked are the Tootsie Pop Drops, so you don’t have to have such a big blob o’ candy in your mouth, but I haven’t seen those in an actual store since I was a kid. Every so often, I see the Tootsie Pop miniatures, but that’s usually around Halloween. I’d prefer it if they were all that size, but alas, no one has asked me.
Oh, and all of the bags have different numbers of flavors in them, so you have to look in the little “window” on the bag to make sure you aren’t getting a bag full of ones you dislike.
I think, even when I’m sick, I’m always ahead of people in the snack department.

That reminds me, I need to get myself to the library. Ugh, need to shower. But, I have a whole bunch of books waiting for me and I don’t want them to put them back. I just finished the “Twilight” author’s “adult” book. I’m not sure what’s so adult about it, it’s not like it has any more sex than the “Twilight” books - I guess it’s because it’s not just about high school kids…anyway, “The Host” was super boring for the first half, but I liked the second half of the book. I was always a sci-fi genre hater, but I’ve realized that it’s more fantasy stuff that I don’t like, not the sci-fi stuff. I like the advanced technology in the books, so I guess that means that someday, I might not even hate Star Trek.
