I don’t feel like blogging today

Here, this is a picture of a part of our back yard.  It kind of looks like that no matter which direction you look, as long as you’re looking toward the back versus directly to the sides, where you can see the neighbors.  Although, the neigbhors are far enough away, and on one side not even full-time residents here, so that you don’t have to pretty up to take the dogs out.  Oh yeah, and that’s an AFTER picture of the yard.  We had to have the whole thing dragged to get rid of the yard full of tumbleweeds.  Sharp, sharp, awful, dog poking tumbleweeds.  There are still some sharp little weeds here and there, but Phoenix is the only one that it bothers now.  I guess when you’re blind, it’s rather unpleasant to suddenly step on sharp crap.  I see her point.  Since this yard is too big to find her way around (in Vegas, she knew to turn right on the patio to get to the dog run, and then come back the same way), and she could end up stuck in a weed patch way far away from the house, she no longer gets to wander alone.  The good news for her is that we try to put her in areas with the fewest pokey things.  Of course, now that it’s gotten so cold here at night (ugh, freezing in the first week of November), she goes in record time.  Now, if we could get Mack to stay outside with Dante during the day and Cricket to stop eating poop unless we babysit here, we’d be super happy about the dogs in the yard.  Also, Cricket was underpad trained, so we didn’t have to work our sleep schedules around her tiny bladder, but the minute we moved here, she absolutely refused to use the pads.  Yes, it saves money, but it really does wreck our sleep.  We can’t use a doggie door either, because we have some kitty rescues who have come off the streets and will go out the doggie door.  It’s not safe for a variety of reasons, but mostly we just couldn’t handle not knowing that everyone was safely at home.

If I post any more pictures, I’ll try to make them more interesting.  Later.
