Dante’s Surgery Was Successful

They took the tumor out of his ear and sent it off to the lab for tests.  We’ll hear back from them next week.  They capped a broken tooth.  It was a mere mumblemumble dollars.  Anyway, he’s sleepy, but seems good.  We’re SO sleepy.  We went to bed sometime after 2am and got up at 6am, got Dante to the vet before 8a, then had breakfast with my parents at 9a.  Then, we ran some errands...many many errands.  Came home.  Collapsed, then went out again to pick Dante up around 5:30p.  We watched Survivor and one episode of The Daily Show and I think we can call it a night.  Zzzzzzzzzzz.  Tomorrow, I pick the contest winner.

  1. Yay! I’m glad Dante’s surgery went well. Sprocket and Finnovar also send regards.

  2. I’m glad to hear it, too.  Is there such a thing as medical insurance for pets?  Like an HMO or something?

  3. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for good (which is to say “nothin’ to worry about") news next week. 4 hours of sleep followed by breakfast with parents sounds like a special kind of hell to me. Not to mention a huge busy day, plus the emotional side of dog-stuff? Eeep.

  4. There is medical insurance for pets, but it’s pretty useless.  We had it for one of our parrots once.  We used it, they raised their rates.  We cancelled. grin

Dana, we’re expecting the news to be good.  He had a textbook case of a non-malignant kind of tumor.  We’re optimistic.

Breakfast with my parents was good.  It was actually our idea.  We like my parents.  We’ll be seeing them probably on Sunday too, for my nephew’s b-day party.  Also, we met them at a casino buffet for breakfast, and while we were waiting, I won $30 on a 4-card nickel keno machine.  So, I bought myself some new pants.  An exhausting, but pretty good day, except the getting up early and the sciatica pain.  We got a multitude of doggie prescriptions refilled at the pharmacy (our dogs are too good for animals meds, they must have people meds<g>wink, got smoothies for us and had Mexican food as we collapsed on the couch to watch Survivor.  Wow, this is as long as an actual blog entry.

  5. Happy families are totally and completely foreign to me - so it warms my cold, cold heart to hear evidence of people who like their parents. smile
