Please Give Me Those 122 Minutes Of My Life Back

We just finished watching Napoleon Dynamite and except for the election dance scene, I wanted to scoop my eyeballs out and place them somewhere where they could watch something better than a first grade play.  In fact, a first grade play would’ve been better than this movie.  Can someone please tell me why they liked it?  Thankfully, we recorded it off one of the movie channels, so we didn’t actually go to a theater and pay for it.  I honestly would’ve asked for my money back…and I have NEVER asked for my money back at the theater.  Oh my god, it was so horrible.  If we’d actually saved it to watch on my birthday tomorrow, I might have cried.  Copious tears.  If someone made money writing and filming this, I’m ready for my career in the movies.  I’ll write the screenplay and act.  You won’t get a dance scene, but other than that, I could give you the same crappy dialogue.

Ballroom Bitch, Ballroom Bitch…

So, tonight was the night for the So You Think You Can DanceRS to work with the choreographers in Los Angeles.  Or, as they say, “Hollywood, the entertainment capital of the world.”  Clearly, these people have never been to actual Hollywood.  Anyway, I immediately detested ballroom choreographer/bitch, Mary Murphy.  She was mean, uptight and judgmental.  The guy with the mohawk, the guy who was doing well in her class, wasn’t acceptable because of his HAIR?  Hey lady, this isn’t a ballroom competition, it’s an all-around dance competition.  She just seemed like she’d be the nasty neighbor who pulls up their nose when they see a kid riding a bike near her house.  Or the person who calls the neighborhood association because she thinks because someone has tattoos or piercings or spiky hair, they’re drug dealers and they’re going to rob her.  I thought at first that I was hating Mia Michaels too, but in a different way.  For one, I wish she’d wash her hair.  But, she was also kind of unnecessarily mean, but she won me over when she took on the Ballroom Bitch to keep Big Poppa.  He’s such a sweet guy that there’s no need to be rude about him, even if you don’t like his dancing.  So, go Mia Michaels!  But, wash your hair!  I really like this show.  It is so much better than I thought it would be.

Speaking of better than I thought it would be - Rockstar: INXS.  I don’t agree with some of the people who have been kicked off (Heather) and some of the people who are still there (Brandon!!! blech), but it’s been really entertaining.  I would buy something by Jordis in a heartbeat.  I would pay to see her in concert.  I’d have her child.  Okay, no, I wouldn’t.  Still, she’s been really fabulous, especially this week.  She also seems nice, and she knew how to handle PsychoJD when he tried to give the Queen song back to her.  She treated him like the deranged child that he seems to be.  My pick to win - Jordis & MiG.  I think they should pick one male and one female.

I’m now going to bed and I’m going to be happy that if there’s a tearful press conference in Toronto tomorrow, I won’t have to see it.  Because, I know for a fact, that it would make me cry.  It shouldn’t.  It has nothing to do with me.  But still, it makes me sad.  More tomorrow, if it happens.

BlogHer Is Now Over, But Hockey Has Yet To Begin

Okay, I’ve made it through the hard part, the BlogHers have had their pre-conference dinner, their conference and their post-conference dinner.  Now, we just have to wait for everyone to get home and post.  Now, I have to move on to hockey.  The important thing - where oh where will Tie Domi (or Voldemort) go?  Will he stay with my beloved Leafs, will he go to the Pittsburgh Penguins (Pittsburgh over Toronto >sigh< ), or will he go somewhere else altogether? If Toronto doesn't offer him enough money, how can I with a good conscience remain a Leafs fan? Although, I don't think I could ever become a fan of Pittsburgh anything. Granted, it's not like the heinous crime of being a NY Yankee, but still… Will I have to love the sinner, but be indifferent to the sin? If he goes somewhere else, would they let him have his number? Because the only numbers I could accept are 28 and 7, because 7 was always my number. Am I thinking about this too much, considering I've only been a Leafs/hockey fan for one season and then there was the lockout?

Leigh-Ann and I just watched Bill Maher:  I’m Swiss on HBO tonight.  It was great.  He voices so many of the same thoughts that we have here at home.  It’s like he’s eavesdropping.  Bill, if you’re there, stop eating all the munchies.

What Do You Mean, You’re Not Watching Rockstar: INXS?

This is a great show!  Seriously, get on the bandwagon - all the cool kids are watching it.  Really, I swear.  I asked all of them.
