Another Good Reason To Own A Laptop

Grotesquely swollen feet.  Make that, mostly, swollen foot.  My right foot has been acting weird in the past month or so.  And the study about sitting at a desk being more dangerous than flying for causing blood clots was spooky.  So, tomorrow, I spend all of my computer time on the couch with my feet up.  I’d like to remember what my ankle bones look like.  I mean, not that they’re super fantastico under ordinary circumstances, but it’s kind of icky when they dent.  So, for my mom’s birthday, I shall have a day of rest...and hockey.

And a very happy birthday to my parents - my mom today...and my dad on the 19th.  They’ll be on a cruise.  Lucky them!  But, they deserve a vacation.

A Dell Sextuple Charge Update

This morning I had a comment on my blog from one of the Dell folks whose job it is to roam around the series of tubes with a Dell engraved fire extinguisher.  I figured one of those people would be stopping by sooner or later.  I am wise to the ways of the world, grasshoppah.  So, I checked my bank account and the final two Vista upgrade charges dropped off.  Two had already dropped off on Tuesday.  I still find it annoying that four extra holds were put on my debit card, because what if it had been more than a piddly $40?  Also, I really wanted to get two o’ them there Vista upgrades for our Dell desktops. wink

Looks Like Jesus, Jr. Will Be Finding Hisself Another Babymama

Damn, and I was so looking forward to some Christ Child Originals by Roro®.  I have to admit that I’m pleased that Harriet (somewhere along the way, in my 20’s, I believe, it got a name) arrived.  It’s perfect timing if I could stay on track now.  The beginning of the month was kind of inconvenient.  Our little message board o’ pals is having a Vegas gathering next month and I’d like to not have to deal with Harriet during the wild partying - a night out to see The Beatles™ LOVE™ by Cirque du Soleil®. (I think they forgot to trademark “by") Maybe my body was subconsciously reading my mind.

terribly early in the morning

I’ve Succumbed - I’ve Set Up A Feed Reader

I’m just using the Internet Explorer one, as I don’t have any special feed reading needs, except that now that I’m working so much, I can’t keep up with my friends’ blogs.  I hate that.  I also hate using a feed reader, as I like to see the whole pretty picture of a blog, not just the text and the occasional picture in a blog entry.  It was fairly easy to set up since most people have a feed button on their site, and those of you who don’t (Nancy & Helly, I’m looking at you), the formatting is the same for all Blogger blogs, so it’s easy enough to plop atom.xml at the end of the blog url to get the feed info.  One feed I haven’t yet easily figured out is the Vox feed.  Even I don’t have a simple button to click on my Vox blog and there isn’t anything in the settings to easily get one.  I’ll have to look more into it later.  Only two of my friends use it as their main blog, so I think I can manage to check in every couple of days at least.

I downloaded some feed reading software too, but I think it’s way more than I need.  It seems lovely if you want your feeds to do handstands and cartwheels, but I’m okay with mine just sitting there like bumps on a log.  If you’re interested in it though, it’s RSSOwl.  When I have more time to fiddle, I may go back to it.  After all, why use Notepad for text when you can use Microsoft Office Professional for the same thing, because it’s expensive and fancy? wink By the way, my feed reading experiment has helped me catch up on a bunch of my blogs, as I’m able to quickly skim everyone’s new entries...and the reader bolds the blogs if there’s a new entry.

late evening

Oh No, I’m Ten Days Late

I’ve been doing everything in my power to not get pregnant (overwhelming fatigue, extra layer of cellulite, not bathing every day, over 40, lesbianism...especially the last one) and I’ve never been this late in all of my menstruating years - I’m generally a 28 day-er.  Ugh, I’ve had PMS for like three weeks.  When will I have to count the weight gain as weight gain, instead of chalking it up to PMS water retention?  Is there some sort of cut-off point if I never get my period again?  While I’m worried in a puzzled sort of way, I would be perfectly happy to never have another period.  What a total waste of money, pain, and time it’s been lo these past 31 years.  That’s approximately 372 periods.  That’s probably close to $2000 wasted.  A whole lot more if you include Advil and the occasional Therma-Care (get the ones for your back, they last a lot longer) in with the “feminine products.” I so resent that part of being female.  The women who thinks it’s a joyous part of being a woman and celebrate it every month are just plain crazy, or theirs lasts a single day and doesn’t include cramps or water retention.  Anyway, I just thought you’d be interested in this fascinating information - especially my father.  I kid.  But I wanted to post something and I’m too tired to do a post where I have to think.

I’ll let you know when the Christ child is born.  Again.  He’ll be Jewish, just like his birth mother, but we’ll raise him as a Pastafarian.  He will marry Shiloh Jolie-Pitt and together they will save the world.  And like have super cute babies.
