The Blur Of The Last Two Months

I feel like I lost two months of my life.  Well, after I lost almost a year of my life to back pain, doctor visits, surgery, and recovery from surgery.  The last two months I’ve either been sick (first with a sinus infection that would not die, then with a cold) or in school.  Even though I learned a lot in school and I’m kind of excited to start doing loans (but terrified at the same time - you’ll send people to me, right?), I feel like so much has gone on and I’ve gotten a little lost.  Then again, if I look back over the last two months, a lot really has happened - some stuff that I can discuss publicly and some stuff that I can’t.  Weird stuff.  Annoying stuff.  Baffling stuff.  Plus, there was that weird dream last night about Sharon Stone shoplifting.  Why on earth am I dreaming about Sharon Stone?  And why is she shoplifting in that dream?

Hey, you know what’s been good lately?  Television.  Veronica Mars is back.  It’s so good.  Are you watching it?  You should be.  Although, why does Mac look different this season?  She looks...odd.  Also, Gilmore Girls is back.  The blessed breakup of Luke and Lorelai.  They made a terrible couple.  The new show this season that you should be watching - Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.  It’s awesome.  The writing is great, the acting is fabulous, and I’ve missed Matthew Perry.

We have new foster kittens.  We’re not sure how old they are, but they’re already at the cute stage where they’re running and jumping and playing.  They’re our third set of foster kittens, and our third set of themed names.  The first kittens were hockey-themed, the second set were Buffy-themed, and these guys are mortgage class themed.  We have Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and TJ.  TJ was our instructor, and she was pretty cool, so we felt she deserved a kitten named after her.  The kitten happens to be a boy, but I don’t think TJ would mind.  By the way, is anyone looking to adopt some kittens?  They’ll be ready for homes in a couple of weeks.  They’re super cute and fun and playful.  C’mon, you know you want some.  They’re like potato chips, you can’t just stop at one.  Take all three.

Idiot of the Day - Steve McNair

All he needed to do was not throw an interception.  But, what does he do in the fourth quarter?  He throws TWO interceptions, which made my fantasy football team lose, and now I’m not tied for first place.  All Mr. Let’s Throw Directly at a Fifteen Foot Defenseman had to do was hand the ball off or throw the ball into the ground or fall down while holding onto the ball or take the ball and run out of the stadium.  But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, he’s throws two interceptions.  I hate Steve McNair.  You know what, all he had to do was get close enough for my kicker to kick a field goal and everything would’ve been fine.  Ugh, I hate him.  I suppose the rest of the Ravens probably hate him too.

What Not To Do When You Have A Very Mild Cold

Don’t, after several days of a sore throat and some congestion, say, “Wow, I’m so glad this cold wasn’t worse.  This wasn’t so bad at all”, because those words will come back to haunt you two days later.  Your nose will run like a faucet and you’ll feel totally miserable.  But, you’ll be glad that you finished school and that you don’t have to go anywhere on Monday.  Omigawd, I’ve felt like such total crap all day today, after I thought my cold was pretty much done on Friday.  I’m just happy that I didn’t feel like this when I had school.  Geez.

Mortgage School - We’re Done!  We Are…Mortgage Agents

Leigh-Ann and I had our last evening of mortgage school tonight.  We took our final (we both got 100%+ - there were bonus questions that we rocked, we were happy to have those bonus points) and got our certificate of 45 hours of Real Estate Finance continuing ed that will be registered with the state licensing board.  All in all, we really enjoyed the class and learned a lot.  We would’ve been a lot happier if the class had been closer to our house, but I suppose we can’t blame the school for that.  Now, we’re looking for brokers to hire us.  We iz s-m-r-t.  We’re creative - for class everyone was supposed to make up “impact statements” for scenarios when meeting people at, say, the grocery store and trying to sell ‘em your wares.  That is so NOT us, and so NOT how we want to work this business.  We want to advertise online (no, not spam - we have never and will never, send unsolicited email - that’s skanky), in niche magazines, on various blogs, by word of mouth, etc.  Anyway, to demonstrate our advertising ideas, we came up with these flyers.  The websites on them are either not real or are not owned by us.  The ads sure were fun to think up.  By the way, the Sandy Murphy one might need a bit of explanation.  She was on trial for murdering Ted Binion.  Long trial, blah, blah, blah.  Convicted, overturned, set free, apparently owes the sugar daddy $4.5 million dollars now.  She’s working for a mortgage company and says she’ll have him paid back in two years.  That’s, uh, some mighty quick commission makin’.  Anyway, our ads - http://flickr.com/photos/mudpuppy/sets/72157594314845354/ - Leigh-Ann did all the artwork.  But remember, they were just thrown together for class, they’re not ready for prime-time yet, or even subprime-time, heh.  That’s the second mortgage joke I’ve been able to make.  Yeah, so what if it wasn’t funny?
