My Mom’s, Er, Uh, Box

Beware, mental images of parents having sex forthcoming.  Last weekend, the whole family (including an aunt & two cousins) went out to breakfast at the Suncoast buffet.  My mom was showing us the box of mints they got at Silver State Credit Union.  She noted that she and my dad would be celebrating their 55th anniversary this year as well, and vaguely spoke of also sharing 55 years of “excellent member service”.  Ewwww.  But funny.  But ewwww.  Still funny though, in a my mom is 77 (my dad is 81) and thinking about “member service” way.  And now you know, those wacky teenaged thoughts you’re having now, in your 30’s, 40’s or 50’s?  You’ll always have them.

evening

Meh

I should really write something here.  Some stuff has happened.  I’ve read a bunch of books. I’ve watched some good tv.  The Stanley Cup Finals have been fun.  We went to Coffee Fest and ate/drank yummy stuff.  We finally got rid of the algae in the pool - we had nitrates or something and had to drain it.  It’s now very very pretty again. Hawaiian Punch has made packets of powder to add to water bottles.  It’s really really good and even better, it’s 10 calories for the whole packet.  I recommend it highly, and I intend to use it to kick my Gatorade (original flavor) habit.  Blackjack (African Grey) is meowing.

A Woman’s “Cycle” Is So Not A Thing To Celebrate

I’m pilled up, Therma-cared up, and I still feel cranky and crappy.  I’ll check back in on Thursday or Friday, when I should be infinitely cheerier and coherent.  But, at least I didn’t do The Worm and have my chonies show.  Oh Y, I loved that story.  A lot of the reason is that I just really enjoy saying “chonies”.  One of my best friends in junior high, high school and during summer softball was Mexican.  I miss her.  Hey, Estella Rivera from Canoga Park, who lived near Columbus Jr. High...where are you?

Tie Takes On…

A chunk of red rabbit fuzz.  It makes him growl, which makes us laugh.  He definitely has to be in the top ten of world class kittens.  He’s funny, friendly, and loves kisses on his forehead.  In fact, he insists upon them.  Except for occasionally leaping on my back (from the floor) or head or stomach (from the cat tree to our bed) or running in front of us right before we take a step, he’s almost always awesome.

When Will It Ever Stop?

“A Manhattan singer was taunted and beaten early yesterday by a group of young men who shouted anti-gay slurs and then broke his jaw as he walked in the East Village, the police and the singer’s publicist said. During the attack, the singer said, no bystanders came to his aid.”

The world is just filled with really horrible people.
