late at night

My Nose Is Running

...and I’d rather no one caught it for a few days.  If I didn’t have to touch another Kleenex (Puffs w/ Lotion!) for a long time, I’d be a very happy girl.  This cold is so much different from the last one, uh, last month.  This one is all about the nose running and the coughing.  No meds seem to help, even though I’m trying everything I can find in our bathroom cabinets.  Right now, I’m on Benadryl and cough syrup.  Yesterday was Tylenol Cold with some sort minty coating.  If I’m not going to suck on a pill, I don’t really need a fancy minty coating.  Sure, it was kind of pretty, but ultimately pointless.  And the cough syrup - the directions say to take 2 teaspoons.  If the maximum dosage is 2 teaspoons, then how come they give you a little cup with markings up to 4 teaspoons?  Cough syrup for you and someone you love, to share?

By the way, if you hate the taste of cough syrup like I do and you’re tempted to chase it with a swig of Gatorade…don’t.  It makes the Gatorade taste gross.  Just suck it up and suffer for the few minutes it takes for the nasty taste to go away, and THEN drink the Gatorade.  You’re welcome.

We went to a Wranglers game last night.  In general, kind of a boring game, plus I was in the throes of figuring out that I had a cold.  However, goalies fighting each other?  Awesome.  They only rolled around a little bit, but it was entertaining to watch them skate at each other from opposite ends of the rink, throwing their gloves off.  To see how the third period went, you need only look at the penalties from the box score: 3rd period - 8, LV, Bellemare, Thomas (Neiszner, Chris) 11:29. 9, SDG, Hildenbrand, Steve (Keyes, Richard, Moore, Grady) 16:51 (pp). It Was A Good Sports Day In Flippy’s World

The Leafs won!  The game was great to watch.  Fast-paced, action-packed (in Darcy Tucker’s fist), great game by Tie.  Then, Monday Night Football and rooting against Tom Brady because in fantasy football, he was my opponent’s quarterback and I had a thirty point lead for the week.  And whoo hoo, I won.  Yay!  Leigh-Ann won that league last year, but retired this year to give the rest of us a chance.

My opponents’ names are blacked out so as to save them from international embarrassment.
