Idiot of the Day - Ford Motor Company
The antigay American Family Association claimed a cultural victory on Thursday and called off its threatened boycott of Ford Motor Co. On Friday, Ford spokesman Mike Moran confirmed to Advocate.com that the company will stop advertising its Jaguar and Land Rover brands in gay publications but insisted it was strictly a business decision. Why oh why do companies give in to these social terrorists? The Ford Co. isn’t strong enough to turn away from freaky religious blackmail? Really, who on earth listens to the AFA? Donald Wildmon is a crazy crackpot. It’s like giving in to a more organized Fred Phelps. It ought to embarrass a company like Ford to enter into any sort of agreement with the AFA. Sickening, just sickening.
It gets worse - Ford gets dumber - http://americablog.blogspot.com/2005/12/ford-issues-public-statement-about.html
To see how a company with a backbone deals with these nuts, check out the Wells Fargo versus Focus on the Family story.
The bank says “we direct our giving to areas that we believe are important to the future of our nation’s vitality and success: community development, education and human services.” - Wells Fargo
It makes me happy to be a Wells Fargo customer. You know, except for the missing money thing, which was fixed the same day.evening
The Daily Factoid - Koala Fingerprints
Koalas have fingerprints, and they look like human fingerprints. Freaky...but true.

The Unfortunate Case of the Spreading Numbness
I still haven’t heard from the doctor’s office regarding my lumbar injection. Color me surprised! So, I called them today at 4:44p - I got a recording, saying their office is closed and that their hours are 9am - 5p. Hmm, forgive me for being picky, but isn’t 4:44p in between those times, therefore someone should’ve answered the phone? I get it, I know no one wants to get stuck on a call that’s going to take them until after closing to finish, but when I worked for law firms and we had to put calls on the service, we actually waited until exactly closing time when we did it. Sure, we always wanted to do it earlier, but that’s kind of unprofessional, right?
The reason I was convinced to call and check up on my injection was because today, for the first time, I’ve had some numbness in my right leg. Until today, all of the problems affected my left leg only. My left leg can be numb all it wants (not really), but I need my right leg for driving. I’m ready to throw my hands in the air and give up, do not pass Go, and proceed directly to the operating room. I don’t think I can wait until next month for the injection. If my insurance doesn’t approve it for this month, I’m going to have to find out how much it would cost if I paid cash.
