late morning

Happy Holidays, Everyone!

I called UPS late last night and the guy said they’d be delivering the package today, but looking at the tracking info, I don’t really believe him.  So, it looks like iTunes or MusicMatch gift certificates it is.  Anyway, it’s time to shower and wrap stuff and figure out what to wear—I wanted to wear a nice sweater, but it’s so warm out today.  It feels like we need the air-conditioning on in the house.

So, I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.  I’m obsessively watching my fantasy football stats because my championship is on the line.  Hey, a girl has to have her priorities.  Xmas, Hanukkah...no, it’s fantasy football championship weekend!

Idiot of the Day - Our UPS Driver

This is my pissy little email to UPS.  Not well-written by any means, but it’s after midnight and I’m tired.

1Z1R06F80140816086
1Z38EW251376501085

BOTH of these packages were sent Next Day Air.  Neither of them was delivered on time, even though BOTH of them went out for delivery.  Does the driver just give up and decide to go home?

Don’t even bother delivering 1Z38EW251376501085, as in case you hadn’t noticed, December 27th is TOO LATE for Xmas.  Not to mention how ridiculous it is that it won’t be delivered on Monday, the 26th.  It isn’t a holiday.  Regardless, I’m going to refuse delivery of this shipment because I’m going to have to go out and buy the items in person.

Please thank my driver for the crappy customer service.  It’s stunning that not just one Next Day Air package was delivered late, but TWO.  In fact, knowing that the second package was probably a Xmas present, it’s stunning that they think that when one pays for Next Day Air, it’s okay to deliver the package, not on the 23rd, but on the 27th.

Thanks for nothing.

I just checked the tracking again and one of them actually said, “THE RECEIVER REQUESTED THAT UPS DELAY THIS DELIVERY.” Yeah, on what planet would I be requesting a delay of delivery?  Let’s just say, not this planet.

Arrrrggggh, I Can’t Believe It!

Or can I?  I just got a call from the pain management doctor’s office.  Remember all the trouble I’ve had making an appointment to get my lumbar injection?  Remember last week that I actually got the appointment for the 30th?  Well, the doctor is now having surgery for something and my procedure is cancelled.  Chances are, I won’t be able to have it done until sometime in FEBRUARY!  munch-scream

So now, I for sure won’t be having surgery in January, because I need to see if the injection will work before they’ll operate.  And, not that I even want surgery, but I want something done.  I feel like I’m in limbo, just sitting and waiting for things to happen...that don’t.  All in all, this is only good news for my chiropractor; and, while I like him, I’d rather just be fixed and end doctors’ visits.  Besides, while he can help me with the pain, adjustments don’t seem to help my bladder.

A Fight - What Fight?

From The Boston Herald - “Bruins winger Dan LaCouture delighted the sellout crowd by beating tough guy Tie Domi (or Voldemort) in a fight just after Brad Stuart’s goal put the game on ice with 22.6 seconds left. . . .”.  That was a fight?  Two guys spinning around?  There was no winner of that fight, because that was maybe a modest attempt at wrestling.  Although, after watching that game, we were all losers.  What a super dull game.  I’d better see some sort of life in them tomorrow night.  It’s hockey, not hopscotch.  Hrumph.
