Those Crazy Banks

Okay, the bank situation is all worked out.  Scary to see though, but my account has returned to normal.  A lesson for everyone out there - don’t check your account in the middle of the night because if there’s something freaky going on, they can’t figure out what it is until 8am.  It’s best to just not know...until you can do something about it.  So, my money is now safe and sound.  Yay!

evening

-$815.34 - Yeah, This Is The Total I Want To See In My Bank Account

In my life, I have NEVER bounced a check.  I’ve never even come close.  Tonight, I went to pay my bills online and I got a shock I so did not need.  It said that my checking account was $815.34 overdrawn, plus there was an overdraft charge of $22, AND the available amount in my savings account was $0.  Now, I’ll be the first one to tell you that my bank account is not loaded with money right now, but there are thousands of dollars missing.  Sadly, not tens or hundreds of thousands, but it is thousands, and I didn’t spend it.  I would’ve accepted that it was a weird late night computer glitch, except for the overdraft charge and the missing money from my savings account.  I called my bank, but she said that she can’t really see anything until after they update at 8am tomorrow.  Ordinarily, not such a big deal.  I rarely write any checks because I pay all of my bills online and in person generally use my debit card; however, I have one check outstanding, for my car payment.  One other weird thing - I went to pick up my Lyrica prescription tonight (that was going to be another rant, as my insurance is refusing to cover it and it’s not cheap) at Smith’s.  Then, after paying for the prescription at the pharmacy with my debit card, I also used the debit card for a few groceries.  So, that’s two separate transactions that went through tonight, yet they’re saying I’m $800 in the hole.  My overdraft protection wouldn’t have covered me being that much in the hole, so none of it makes sense.  But man, it’s crappy.  I was already on edge today money-wise and this was pretty much the last thing that I needed.

So, only seven hours and fifteen minutes to find out where thousands of dollars disappeared to.  Wheeeeee.

Update 2:10am - Wait, it gets better, now it’s at -$1,168.80.  If I keep checking, maybe my negative balance can pay for the war in Iraq.

Hey, Person in Montreal - Tie Domi Is Not Gay

I seem to be getting a lot searches for this lately.  I am gay.  Tie is not.  He’s married and has a whole slew of kids.  I know that Google gets all confused when you ask it certain questions, but let me assure you that Tie isn’t gay.  Got that?  Tie Domi is not gay.

Anderson Cooper, on the other hand - gay.

Oh, and while I’m here - Mariana Bichette’s fifteen minutes of fame are up.  Stop searching for her.  Granted, I probably have one of the few pictures of her on the internet, but hey, you people could’ve stood in front of your tvs with a camera too.

Glad I could help.  G’night.

late afternoon

So Very Tired

Is it the meds (Lyrica), do I need more sleep, or is it stress?  I can’t manage to watch more than a couple of short tv shows without falling asleep on the couch.  It’s creepy to wake up hours later and remember almost nothing.

Oh yeah, and Dad, tell Mom I didn’t call her back because...I was asleep.  And, the doctor’s appointment that I had was only a chiropractor’s appointment.  My first semi-important doctor’s appointment coming up is on the 30th.

I think I’m going to get ready for bed now.  My brain isn’t functioning, so there’s no point in attempting to do anything tonight.

lunch time

Dr. Outlaw…FADE TO BLACK

Yeah, so I’m not going to see him on Tuesday.  More about that later.

Okay, it’s now later.  I think I left you with the message I left at Dr. FancyPants’ office, asking if getting the injection from Dr. Outlaw was okay with them.  The answer was, “No, it’s not okay.” Apparently, Dr. No Está Bien does something differently.  He also does his different thing in a surgery center, where he uses a fluoroscope.  I guess I believe he does do something differently because he’s an anesthesiologist and Dr. Outlaw isn’t.  So, I’m stuck with the $250/five minute consult, with no idea how much the actual procedure will cost.

To add more fun to this whole process, I went to my chiro yesterday.  That was all fine and dandy until I went to pay.  I’ve been paying cash this whole time because my chiropractor isn’t on my “plan”.  But, when I initially started going to him last year or the year before, I chose him because he does Active Release Therapy and none of the chiropractors on my plan did.  A week or two ago, the chiro’s office told me I had credit on my account because my insurance company had paid them a small amount of money.  Small compared to what I’ve paid out in the past six weeks out of pocket.  It was nice, I had a few visits where I didn’t have to whip out the debit card.  The fun all has to end when it comes to my insurance company though - they took some of the money back and instead of still having a credit on my account, I had a balance.  It wasn’t a lot, but I’m getting really tired of this insurance rollercoaster.  Not to mention, it looks like they won’t pay for my Lyrica either, which is about $150/month.  Maybe if they’d stop sending statements every other day, stating THIS IS NOT A BILL, they’d save enough money to pay for some of these things.

The insurance company is lucky that my bladder is bothering me and I can’t concentrate, or I’d rant more about them.  Bah, health insurance, what a scam.
