The Cute Doctor Update

Went back to the chiropractor this afternoon.  After letting him know that the pain in my leg is almost constant and that my leg gave out on me this morning at the bottom (luckily) of the stairs, he decided that it was time to order the MRI.  His office called my crappy insurance company, who said that they would pay 70%, but only up to $300.  Wheeee.  So, his office is calling around to see if they can find somewhere that will offer a better rate if I pay cash.  Well, we did get 50% off Leigh-Ann’s hospital bill when we paid them cash within two weeks, so I imagine something will be done.  Anyway, hopefully I’ll get some answers next week.

Okay, back to Survivor.

Ow, Ouch, Yeow, Ugh

So, I went to the doctor today.  My left leg is still weak, painful and occasionally numbish.  It’s so weird, and so utterly ever present.  The treatment hurts, although I’m going back again tomorrow.  Such great fun.  If I don’t get better after two weeks, he wants to order an MRI.  But the weird thing was, he said he wanted to see me again tomorrow or Friday, but if he didn’t see me tomorrow, he’d call.  Plus, he gave me his business card and said that number would reach him at any time.  He didn’t do that last year when I went to see him with my sciatica.  What, a weakening leg isn’t normal? Anyway, all was not lost - afterwards, Leigh-Ann & I went to Cost Plus and got some snacks.  Coffee Crisp, dark-chocolate covered marzipan, some Swedish berries and other stuff.  Then, a free meal from Pickup Stix, because we’d had a really crappy meal there sometime last year and wrote a letter of complaint.  It was that bad.  They sent us $20 in gift certificates, so we finally got around to using them.  Mmmm, Dan Dan Noodles, Cream Cheese Won Tons and House Chicken.  So, a visit to the doctor turned into a lovely taste treat.  And, now I’ve hit my pain limit for sitting on my computer chair.  ‘til we meet again…

Scoring Machines - Encyclopedia Browns & Tie Domi

Aw, who woulda thunk it?  Tie Domi, two goals in three games - would’ve been three, if not for a great stop by Hasek.  Looked like he was on his back and stopped it with his feet.  Plus, so far an undefeated season for the Encyclopedia Browns of the IFFL (Intl Fantasy Football League), after an especially tense Monday Night Football game.  It took me until the fourth quarter to eek that one out.  Brutal, after an overtime Leafs game.  Speaking of overtime, shootouts, and Leafs - gah!  Blech!  Ghastly!  Geez, at least let Tie try one because clearly no one else is having any success.  Anyway, back to me.  5-0 (we’ll not mention the other league where my team has the horrid-for-fantasy-value Peyton Manning at the helm)...the other team names are blocked out so as not to hurt their feelings.  Plus, I don’t want you to see I’m beating Paris Hilton, Jessica Simpson, Anna Nicole Smith, Richard Simmons and George Bush.  You might mock my coaching skills.

Speaking of the Browns (oh, you’ve already forgotten about my football team, haven’t you?), check out Helly and her incredible foofiness.  She actually gave herself a manicure in an attempt to match our rustic furniture.  Of course, now we’ll never find her in the house, she blends so well.  Oops, I forgot to mention that she needs a layer of construction/desert dust across her nails to more accurately match.  Then again, I showed her a picture of the furniture when it was brand new, so she didn’t have the muted dust layer to go by.

I owe a bunch of emails, but I’m having trouble sitting at my desk with this stupid sciatic pain.  My left leg is half numb, half burning in pain.  Yes, Mom & Dad, I finally made a doctor’s appointment for Wednesday.  Even I can’t stand my whining anymore.  Nothing helps the pain - not ice, not pills, not stretching.  Nothin’.

Tomorrow, Leigh-Ann and I are getting haircuts and highlights.  Actually, Leigh-Ann is getting highlights, I’m thinking of getting my hair colored Leafs blue.

Take It From A Lesbian - Not All Girl/Girl TV Action Is A Good Thing

I finally got around to watching the new season premiere of Nip/Tuck.  The only tv boyfriend I like more than Tie is Julian McMahon (see dreamy picture below) , but the three-way with the Scotland Yard (or wherever) chick and Kimber?  Ugh.  The Scotland Yard chick is SCARY.  Even Famke Janssen is less scary.  I used to think Kimber was trash.  Okay, she’s still trash, but she’s attractive trash.  I hope The Carver kills the SY chick because I can’t take much more of her.  Complete turn-off.  It just proves lesbians don’t think all girl/girl sex on tv is necessary.  Give me Christian & Kimber or Sean & Julia, or heck, Kimber & Julia.
