Minor Update - Pooch & Human
Cricket is still doing well while taking her Rimadyl. Even when Phoenix jumped on her back while they were playing, she still didn’t limp. She snarled and acted like she wanted to fight, which is the closest they’ve ever come to fighting, but her leg held up. Breaking up snarly little dogs is SO much easier than breaking up snarly big dogs. Snarly big dogs, you have to let them finish or try to distract them by throwing plastic trash cans at them...not that we’ve ever done that, no sirree. Little dogs, you can quickly swipe at them, while making sure they don’t bite you. Or at least, that’s what you can do with Phoenix & Cricket. Other little dogs might bite you, I don’t know.
A me update - the pain is much better. Now, instead of 7-9 on a pain scale of 10, it’s 2-5. It still gets bad when I move around too much, but I’m happy with the lessening pain progress. The weak leg and bladder stuff is the same, so I don’t know what that’ll mean as far as surgery goes. I’d like to avoid surgery, but I’d also like to be able to sit in my car for more than ten minutes without having to stop and stand up. It’s rather inconvenient.

Most Excellent Puppy News - And A Decent Flippy Update Too
Phoenix and Cricket both had appointments today. Phoenix, to get her urine/blood checked, to make sure all of her meds are working properly; and Cricket, to have her knee checked. Phoenix passed all of her tests with flying colors. Cricket’s knee was where it should be, which is good news. The vet said that it could be arthritis caused by the damp weather, especially since the Rimadyl has helped her. We’re to keep her on the meds for another week and then see how she is. It’s obviously better news than we expeccted.
My horrible leg pain has eased off A LOT. I don’t think it’s because of the pain meds either. I think the chiropractic treatments and the constant icing have helped. It’s still pretty bad if I stand or walk for any length of time and it’s still hard to get comfortable to sleep, but it’s much improved. Wheee!

Arrest warrant issued for DeLay
AUSTIN, Texas — A state court issued an arrest warrant yesterday for U.S. Rep. Tom DeLay, requiring him to appear in Texas for booking on conspiracy and money-laundering charges.
The court set an initial $10,000 bail as a routine step before the Texas Republican’s first court appearance tomorrow.
DeLay, R-Texas, could be fingerprinted and photographed, although his lawyers hope to avoid this step. DeLay probably will surrender in his home county of Fort Bend, near Houston, but he could go to any law-enforcement office in Texas. His court appearance will be in Austin.
The warrant is “a matter of routine, and bond will be posted,” said DeLay’s lawyer, Dick DeGuerin.
DeLay has stepped down as House majority leader under a rule requiring him to relinquish the post if charged with a felony.
Two grand juries have charged DeLay and two political associates in an alleged scheme to violate state election law by funneling corporate donations to candidates for the Texas Legislature. State law forbids corporate donations to finance state campaigns.”

BackFlippy Update
So, where we last left off in our saga was the preliminary results of the MRI. The final results were the same. Herniated disc. I have consults with two orthopedic surgeons next week. My guess is still probably, at the very least, some minor surgery. Right now, I’m feeling better. The excruciating thigh pain that I was having last week has diminished quite a lot with my chiropractic treatments. The calf pain is still pretty bad, especially when I want to sleep. Yesterday I got some pain meds and they help a bit. They also make me a bit nauseous. Blech. And there’s nothing the least bit fun about them, which makes me sad. I’m just wanting to be back to normal - no back pain, no leg pain and no bladder issues. So, if surgery is necessary for that, bring it on.

Cricket Update
#2 The Rimadyl seems to help her.
#3 She’s going to the vet tomorrow. We’ll hope for the best, but expect the worst. And the worst is, one more surgery. She handles them well, the vet’s office LOVES her (Hi, Marge!) and always asks about her when we bring in any of the other pets. So, in any case, she’ll be fine. If she needs surgery, I won’t post any of the cute post-surgery pictures. I’ll leave that to Leigh-Ann. Besides, with the ACL surgery, she doesn’t get the cute Jennifer Beals leg warmer casts that she got with her first surgery.
