This Week in Pictures

Debbie Reynolds at the Suncoast, from the back booth, with a camera phone.  Don’t worry, even if you went to my Flickr account and saw the large size, you still couldn’t tell it was her.

Frozen Fury 8 - Los Angeles Kings vs Colorado Avalanche (Avs won 2-1 in OT)  This picture is actually quite good if you see the largest size of it.

This one even has a puck in the shot, which you can only see if you look at the big picture.

And of course, the SuperZoo Pet Expo, of which you’ve already seen some pictures.  Am I a party girl or what?

Omigawd, Republicans Invade!

What to do, what to do.  I’ve just recently learned that at least two of my favorite new blog friends, er acquaintances maybe, are Republicans.  Before I came out, I don’t think that would’ve bothered me so much.  But, being that Republicans are always behind the anti-gay laws and anti-medical marijuana laws, it’s often hard to justify liking any Republicans.  Plus, well, they’re represented by Bush, which I find utterly gross.  Because these are smart people and I think that would be embarrassing, having Georgie speak for them.  While Clinton was cheating on his wife and getting blowjobs, he was also a joy to listen to when giving a speech.  In fact, I hate rallies of any sort, including political ones, but last year I specifically left the house to see Bill Clinton speak at a Kerry Rally in Vegas.  It was like seeing a rock star…and hey, they often have marital difficulties too.  Anyway, what I’m trying to say is, it’s weird knowing that people I like and I think like me, are voting for people who hate me.  See, Republicans don’t have that same problem.  People rarely vote against rights for them, so it’s never a big personal issue.

Republican friends of mine, don’t take my posts personally, as I can generally separate the political sin from the sinner.  However, and I have to be honest here, it kind of hurts my feelings.  Yeah, yeah, yeah, you were Republicans before I ever met you, but that’s besides the point.  It doesn’t fit into the semi-rant.  If I ever thought that Republican politicians actually meant it when they said they were fiscally conservative (Bush squandered every cent Clinton recovered and then some…well, then A LOT), I might consider some of their points of view.  Not only that, this small government stuff is a lie too - small government seems to mean, squeeze money out of the poor and make sure the government meddles in our personal lives.  Heh, have you heard about the new FBI task force the Attorney General has gathered to go after ADULT pornography?  I guess we’ve won the war on terror then, no?  Otherwise we wouldn’t care what adults buy with their money, right?  We can’t catch bin Laden, but yes sirree, we can go after people who want to see consenting adults nekkid.  Man, what a waste of money.

A Very Special Shout Out To Helly

I’m too tired to post an entry and upload all of my pictures from tonight, but I needed to post this one for Helly.  This guy was sitting in front of us, and we thought you’d enjoy his jersey.

Our Busy Week Culminates With HOCKEY!

Our busy week started with seeing Debbie Reynolds at the Suncoast last Sunday.  Us, and a bunch of old folks.  Seriously, when I feel old, all I have to do is go to a show at the Suncoast and I’ve miraculously found the fountain of youth.  We were amongst the youngest in the room, by a good 20+ years.  While I really liked Debbie Reynolds when she was cussing on the Tracey Ullman Show, she was a little too proper in person.  Also, too much singing, not enough talking.  I’m sure the other people in the audience didn’t mind the singing so much, but I didn’t even know most of the songs.  What would’ve been more fun…going out for a few drinks with Debbie.

On Wednesday, we went to the SuperZoo Pet Expo at Mandalay Bay.  It was awesome.  It was like the most amazing pet store in the whole world…and then some.  It was also completely exhausting.  For more details, check out Leigh-Ann’s entry about it.  Because I’m, well, lazy.  But for you, a couple of pictures.  Check out Leigh-Ann’s blog in the future for the jellyfish and parrot pictures.  She took ‘em, she gets to post ‘em.  I swiped the hedgehog picture though.  Because, hey, HEDGEHOGS!

And a shot from the groovy pet product fashion show.  The camera was acting up, so the picture isn’t great. HPIM0189

Next up on our busy week list - tonight we have tickets to Frozen Fury 8, a pre-season hockey game between the Colorado Avalanche and the Los Angeles Kings.  Neither team is a particular favorite, but hey, the NHL is back!  Also, I have Jeremey Roenick (LA) and Patrice Brisebois (Col) on my fantasy hockey team, so there’s at least someone to root for on each team.  Hopefully, we’ll be able to take some pictures.

Hurricane Rita, My Blog and Our Servers

If my blog goes missing, it’s because our servers are in Houston.  They’re preparing in every way possible, so hopefully we won’t lose our, uh, hundreds of sites.  If we do, it’ll be for days and I’ll spend my time commenting on *your* blogs.
