Admit It, You Miss Hockey…and You Need Some Practice
Practice your slapshots against what you can pretend is Ed Belfour - he’s had back surgery and it’ll be harder for him to stop your slapshots.

I Hate Everything
I hate everything and almost everyone. I have a headache, I’ll never see the Leafs play again, the NFL is boring without being able to follow my fantasy football team, my next door neighbor built a fucking barn (he calls it a garage) in his back yard and it blocks my view of the mountains…and you know what, money DOES buy happiness. And, and, and I have a headache! Grrrr…

Natural Affinity
I’m thinking that it’s just quite possible that I don’t have a natural affinity for blog tweaking. In fact, I think it’s making my IQ drop as I just sit here. How long have I been sending email? 15 years? How many times have I sent email to the wrong person? Yes, that is correct, none. Okay, make that one, now. Geez. Perhaps I’m losing my mind. After weeks of bad weather here in Vegas, all this sunshine is going to my head. Sunshine and code. You know, my mother thinks I’m smart. Shouldn’t that mean I should be able to change one measly little element without ripping out my hair?
You know what though? Up there ^, where I wrote “Natural Affinity”? My fingers wanted to type “Infinity”. That’s so sad. Next thing you know, I’m going to be asking where the cheese at.

Hockey Hero of the Day - RIP Archie Bennitz, 84
Hockey fan slams lockout in own obit
OTTAWA (AP) - An ardent hockey fan who died this week used his obituary to denounce the NHL lockout.
Archie Bennitz, 84, instructed his son to criticize NHL commissioner Gary Bettman and union leader Bob Goodenow in his death notice.
Bennitz called Bettman and Goodenow “skunks for denying him the pleasure of watching the NHL on TV this year,” the obituary in the Ottawa Citizen read. Bennitz also urged Bettman to step aside in favor of Wayne Gretzky.
David Bennitz said his father had become increasingly angry during his last month in the hospital as the lockout dragged on. Hockey was the only thing he watched on TV.
Bennitz, who was born in Nova Scotia and grew up just north of Toronto, was a dedicated Maple Leafs fan. He developed a soft spot for the Ottawa Senators, however, after he moved to Ottawa about three years ago to be closer to his family.

Too Too Tired
I’m too tired to rant about the lousy Starbucks service at the Santa Fe, nor the idiot who kept smacking the buttons on his Hoot Loot (or some dumb name) slot machine. I’m tired because it’s
that time of the month and I fell behind on my Advil schedule. Now, I’m all doped up and totally wiped out.
The German Shepherd is bugging the new cats, the cats are hissing, the little dogs are whining. It’s just fucking unpleasant and I would like to go to bed and read.
Today was a nice enough day to start. The weather was gorgeous—it’s that weather we paid good money to find in Las Vegas, 69F in winter. Just delightful. You should’ve been here. My parents were buying lunch. We had plantains (yes!), Korean bbq, crawfish and other stuff (it was the Gold Coast buffet) to finish it off banana soft-serve ice-cream with chocolate sprinkles. Perfection.
Now, I must sleep, before my hormones realize I’m plotting against them with medication. I’m tip-toeing off…
